If you're looking for a great free Diablo 3 Leveling Guide you've come to the right place! With all Diablo games leveling is extremely straight forward.  I know this was very popular when the game first launched. Quest EXP is much higher than mob kill EXP at low levels. I'm guessing that for very low levels (say, levels 1 - 10), it would be more efficient to cash in quests even with the XP nerfs that came out so long ago. I expect Ghom runs may be quick, but I haven't tried it out yet.  There is a main quest you will follow pretty much to the letter and that is really all that's required of you to level as quickly as possible.  The Adventuring items are only worth going crazy on until about level 15 - 20. Once you reach Act 3 you will want to focus on improving your character rather than leveling faster. So, for the first two acts you will want to make sure you have adventuring gear in every slot and you clear every cave and kill every monster. If you do this you will go into act 3 at level 25 - 27. Those are the few obvious things that come to mind but there are many more little things that you can do or find that will increase your speed of leveling.Act 3 - Select quest Kill Azmadon. The route: Crater1, Crater2 & the Core. You kill Azmo, tell him to decline. Flush, Select Kill Azmo Quest and repeat. 
After level 42, you can use top-end gear that rolls nicely with Reduced Level Requirements. Besides the obvious "get a high DPS weapon", some fun tricks include Thorns gear (2k dmg to attackers per hit is huge at these levels) or proc items (Maximus and Schaefer's Hammer are great examples that can do great damage for these levels regardless of your sheet DPS; Hellfire Ring can become a staple attack method for those who have it coupled with high attackspeed weapons as, To speed up the first 15 levels you will want to stack Adventuring Gear in almost every slot. Just search for it on the Auction House and don't pay more than 1500 per piece. Also be sure to look for some nice core stats for your class (Aka whatever your main stat is and Vitality). Also once you get closer to level 15 search the Auction House for Socketed Gems/Amulet as well as any gear with sockets. You are able to put Flawless Square Gems in level 10 gear which will make you nearly invincible at these lower levels.
I think Wizards are one of the safest/best carries because they can clear an entire screen very quickly with long-range ray spells like Disintegrate or Archon Disintegrate. I find that Teleport -- Wormhole is too fast for most players, so I just run Archon Teleport. This requires very little attention; your runs are no-brainers. You protect your team by killing everything instantly and from a distance. Here's a sample skill build, but this one is so easy to do that you probably don't need any information other than "Archon Teleport works great".
